UNICEF FLAG OFF FREE ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO 5,500 BENEFICIARIES AT PHC GUMBI

UNICEF in collaboration with SOCHEMA Flag Off free access to Healthcare Services to 5,500 beneficiaries a cross Wamakko, Bodinga and Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The beneficiaries were vulnerables under the categories of Aged, Children Under 5, Pregnant, Physically Challenged and Poor among communities of the 3 local governments areas.
The Honourable Special Adviser to SOCHEMA Dr. Amamatu Yusuf during her remarks on behalf of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Sokoto thanked Unicef for choosing Sokoto State in commencement of Social Intervention Program. She assured her total support and her agency readiness to ensure Monitoring and Supervision of the program in accordance with Unicef guidelines.
Unicef head of Social Policy Specialist Unit Malam Isah Ibrahim during his remarks thanks Sokoto State Government for accepting the program. He called on beneficiaries to see this as opportunity, the purpose of the program is to provide free access to healthcare services. He further explained that the program has two beneficiaries, those that will benefit from drugs and money (Pregnant Women and their children) and those that will benefit from drugs only (aged, disable and poor).

ribution of ID cards to some beneficiaries and said access to free Healthcare will commence on 1st October, 2021.
